Bill Wallace (August 1, 1947 – January 30, 2012) was an American author primarily focused on children's books. He began his writing career as a way to engage his fourth-grade students, responding to their enthusiastic reception of his stories. Wallace developed a distinct style characterized by humorous and often outrageous tales centered around animals and children, frequently incorporating elements of adventure and suspense. His work was largely produced through Bub Moose Books and Gray Cat Books, and he authored over 100 titles throughout his career.
Wallace's success was largely driven by his popular "A Dog Called Kitty" series, which became a bestseller in 1992. He continued to write and publish extensively, covering a broad range of themes from animal adventures to humorous slices of childhood, often exploring themes of friendship, bravery, and the unexpected.
