Emilie Loring (September 5, 1866 – March 13, 1951) was an American novelist who began her prolific writing career at the age of 50 in 1914. Known for her romantic and historical fiction, Loring produced over 50 books during her career, achieving significant commercial success, selling over a million copies of her initial 30 titles. She was influenced by literary and romantic traditions, crafting stories often set in the American West or featuring strong female characters. Her sister, Rachel Baker Gale, also wrote plays, and her son, Selden M. Loring, was also a writer.
