Gregory Maguire is an American novelist born in Albany, New York, in 1954. He holds a PhD in English and American literature from Tufts University and is known for his imaginative and often dark fantasy and historical fiction. Maguire's writing frequently explores themes of power, morality, and societal upheaval, often set in reimagined versions of classic stories or historical periods.
