Harry Harrison, born Henry Maxwell Dempsey, was an American science fiction author known for his prolific output and often satirical approach to the genre. His writing frequently explored social and political commentary within imaginative settings, often blending humor with serious themes. He is particularly remembered for creating the character of The Stainless Steel Rat and for the novel Make Room! Make Room!, which served as the basis for the film Soylent Green.
