Dallas William Mayr, writing as Jack Ketchum, was an American horror fiction author known for his intensely violent and bleak narratives. Born in Livingston, New Jersey in 1946, Ketchum’s diverse background – including acting, teaching, and sales – informed his writing, often exploring themes of isolation, savagery, and the darker aspects of human nature.
