James Wesley Rawles, born in 1960, is an American author and former U.S. Army Intelligence officer. His background includes service as a Captain, defense officer's course, and attendance at the Northern Warfare School, experiences which heavily influence his writing. Rawles’s writing style is characterized by detailed descriptions of survival techniques, military strategy, and a staunchly conservative worldview, often rooted in Christian beliefs. He’s a prominent proponent of the "American Redoubt," a proposed survivalist refuge in the American Northwest.
