Lilian Jackson Braun was an American mystery writer best known for her popular "Cat Who" series. Beginning in 1966, Braun created a series of three mystery novels featuring Jim Qwilleran, a retired advertising executive who adopted a group of stray cats in the North Carolina coastal town of Hampstead.
