Nic Stone, born Andrea Nicole Livingstone on July 10, 1985, is an American author primarily focused on young adult and middle grade fiction. Known for her incisive explorations of race relations and social issues, Stone’s writing style is characterized by authentic voices and relatable characters, often tackling complex themes with a blend of humor and vulnerability. She gained significant recognition with her debut novel, Dear Martin, a powerful story examining racial injustice through the eyes of a Black teenager, and subsequently with Clean Getaway, a middle grade novel addressing issues of consent and friendship.
