Oyinkan Braithwaite (born 1988) is a Nigerian-British novelist and writer. Born in Lagos, she spent her formative years between Nigeria and the UK, experiences that heavily inform her work. Braithwaite is recognized for her distinctive, darkly humorous style, often exploring themes of family, duty, and morality within a contemporary setting. Her writing is characterized by sharp dialogue, a focus on complex female characters, and a willingness to tackle uncomfortable truths.
Her debut novel, My Sister, the Serial Killer, catapulted her to international acclaim. Since then, she has published several critically acclaimed novels including Cursed Daughters and The Baby is Mine, all of which are known for their exploration of dysfunctional families and the darker aspects of human nature.
