Sara Shepard (born April 8, 1977) is an American author primarily known for her hugely successful young adult thriller series, Pretty Little Liars and The Lying Game. Shepard's writing style is characterized by intricate plots, suspenseful pacing, and complex, often flawed, teenage characters navigating secrets and lies. She frequently explores themes of friendship, betrayal, and identity within the framework of mystery and thriller genres. Shepard graduated from NYU and Brooklyn College, and currently resides outside Philadelphia.
