Stuart M. Kaminsky (1934-2009) was a prolific American mystery writer known for his extensive and diverse series of detective novels. He began his career writing in the 1970s, establishing iconic characters like Toby Peters, a 1940s Hollywood private investigator, and Inspector Porfiry Petrovich Rostnikov, a Moscow police inspector, amongst numerous other series, including Abe Lieberman, Lew Fonesca, and CSI: New York. Kaminsky’s writing style was characterized by detailed plots, strong characters, and a knack for blending genre elements.
