Thomas King is an award-winning novelist, short story writer, scriptwriter, and photographer who frequently writes about First Nations experiences and perspectives. Born in Sacramento, California in 1943, he initially identified with Greek and German ancestry before genealogical research revealed no Indigenous heritage. King’s work is characterized by a blending of genres and a deconstruction of traditional narratives, often challenging dominant historical accounts and exploring themes of identity, colonialism, and storytelling.
