Tim LaHaye (April 27, 1926 – July 25, 2016) was an American Baptist evangelical Christian minister and political activist. He is best known for his prolific writing career, particularly for co-authoring the immensely popular and controversial "Left Behind" series with Jerry B. Jenkins. He was a founder of the Council for National Policy and a vocal advocate for conservative political positions.
LaHaye authored over 85 books, encompassing both fiction and non-fiction, largely focusing on Christian themes and biblical prophecy. The "Left Behind" series, beginning with "Left Behind" in 1996, became a global phenomenon, translated into numerous languages and adapted into films. Beyond this flagship series, he produced a vast catalog of books exploring various aspects of Christian faith, prophecy, and politics, including numerous standalone titles and collaborative works with Jerry Jenkins.
