Paul Doherty (born September 21, 1946) is an English author, historian, and former Headmaster of Trinity Catholic High School in London. Doherty is best known for his extensive historical mystery series, which he meticulously researches and writes in the style of a contemporary detective investigating crimes within specific historical periods. His writing is characterized by detailed period accuracy, complex plots, and a strong focus on forensic detail, often employing techniques that wouldn't have been available at the time of the crime.
