Stewart O’Nan is an American author known for his extensive and prolific output, particularly his work within the Akashic Noir series. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1961, O’Nan's background is surprisingly diverse, having earned a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering before pursuing a career as a test engineer and then transitioning to writing. His early success came with "Snow Angels," which earned him the Pirate’s Alley Faulkner Prize. O’Nan’s writing style is characterized by detailed character studies and explorations of complex moral dilemmas, often set against the backdrop of urban environments.
