Terry Conrad Johnston (January 1, 1947 – March 25, 2001) was an American Western fiction author known for his prolific output of over 31 novels. Johnston meticulously researched his historical Westerns, often traveling extensively to towns and cities to ensure accuracy and detail in his narratives. He was a perfectionist, dedicated to presenting authentic depictions of the American West, and earned the Western Writers of America Medicine - Pipe Bearer's Award in 1982 for his debut novel, "Carry the Wind." His writing style focused on immersive storytelling, detailed landscapes, and compelling characters within the context of the frontier era.
